Travel to Stuttgart & arrival at the University of Hohenheim

The University of Hohenheim is in the South of Stuttgart - only a few minutes away from the airport. The university is around 10 km away from the city center and Stuttgart main station and can be reached within 30 minutes using public transportation. 

By Airplane:

Many airlines offer direct flights from European Cities to Stuttgart Airport (STR). If you are travelling from overseas you might have to connect in Frankfurt, London or another European capital. From Frankfurt Airport you can also take a direct train to Stuttgart main station (1:30 hrs.). Stuttgart Airport is located about 10 km outside of Stuttgart and is connected to Hohenheim by bus (10 minutes) or to Stuttgart city centre by train (0:30 hrs.).

By Train:

Deutsche Bahn links Stuttgart to many cities within Germany and Europe. Highspeed trains (ICE) connect Stuttgart to Frankfurt (1:30 hrs.), Munich (2:30 hrs), Cologne (2:15 hrs) or Berlin (5:30 hrs). The French TGV provides a direct connection to Paris in less than 4 hours.The main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is located in the center of Stuttgart.

Public transportation from the Stuttgart main train station to the University of Hohenheim:

• Stadtbahn U7 or U15 (underground train station) toward Ostfildern to Ruhbank (Fernsehturm), then transfer to the city bus 70 toward Plieningen until the stop Universität Hohenheim or
• Stadtbahn U5, U6, or U12 (underground train station) toward Leinfelden or Fasanenhof until Möhringen Bahnhof, then transfer to the Stadtbahn U3 toward Plieningen until Plieningen Garbe. Then walk to the University of Hohenheim or transfer into the city bus 65 toward Obertürkheim Bf. until the stop Universität Hohenheim.

By Car:

• From Stuttgart center: From the B14 (Konrad-Adenauer-Straße), turn onto the B27 (Charlottenstraße) at Charlottenplatz (near the Schloss), then keep driving straight. The street turns into 4 lanes, take exit S-Hohenheim. Follow the signs S-Plieningen/S-Hohenheim for several kilometers until you reach Plieningen. Turn left to the University of Hohenheim. Follow the street and turn right at the next opportunity. Continue to follow the street until you reach the parking spaces.
• From Karlsruhe/Heilbronn: Autobahn A8, exit Stuttgart-Flughafen/S-Hohenheim, stay left, and follow the signs S-Hohenheim. After around 4 km, turn left to the University of Hohenheim. Follow the street until you reach the parking spaces after a sharp left turn.
• From Munich: Autobahn A8, exist S-Plieningen/S-Hohenheim, stay right, and follow the signs S-Hohenheim. After around 4 km, turn left to the University of Hohenheim. Follow the street until you reach the parking spaces after a sharp left turn.
